Legal age requirement:
Alcoholic Beverages may be sold and delivered only to persons over the age of 21. By ordering from this website, you affirm that you are at least 21 years old. Bernard's Wine Gallery makes every effort to ensure that alcoholic beverages are not delivered to anyone who is under the age of 21. All alcoholic beverages that we ship on your behalf must be received and signed for by an adult of legal drinking age. We encourage you to deliver to a business address to reduce the likelihood of failed delivery. If the wine is returned to us for failure to provide positive proof of age, the customer is responsible for paying all related shipping charges. Interstate shipping: Many states have laws prohibiting or severely restricting the shipment of wine into their states from elsewhere in the country. All wines are sold in California and title passes to buyer in California. We make no representation as to the legal right of anyone to ship or import wines into any state or country outside of California. By placing an order with us, you authorize Bernard's Wine Gallery to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you. If you wish to ship to another state, you assume all responsibility for determining whether you may lawfully import alcoholic beverages into that state. As interstate shipping laws are constantly changing, you may want to check with the appropriate agency in your state or county. Our acknowledgment of an order is not a guarantee that we will ultimately be able to ship wine to you. If we are unable to ship wine to the state you request, we will notify you before processing your order to determine whether you wish to proceed. Extreme weather advisory: Prolonged exposure to heat and freezing temperatures can damage wine. Carriers do not insure against heat or cold damage, and we are unable to take responsibility for such damages after your wine has safely left our store. You are solely responsible for determining when and by what method you wish us to deliver your order-so be aware of weather conditions before shipping an order. That being said, we do reserve the right to withhold an order if we have clear reason to believe weather conditions are severe enough to significantly endanger the safety of your wine. In such a case, we will notify you promptly and discuss alternatives. Except for deliveries on the West Coast, we encourage you to select UPS Next Day Air or UPS 2nd Day Air as your shipping method during the winter or summer months, in order to reduce the likelihood of weather-related damage to your wine. In winter and summer we generally do not ship on Fridays, since carriers hold shipments over the weekends in their warehouses, where storage conditions may be far from ideal for temperature-sensitive products such as wine. International orders: We accept international orders for many countries, and can provide a quote for international shipping upon request. Be aware that there may be additional duties, taxes, and tariffs based on your destination country. You are responsible for determining your customs charges, and they will be due COD upon delivery in your country. Contact us for more information-by phone at +1-805-487-1272 or by email retail@bernardswinegallery.com. Product Availability and Pricing: Product quantities on the website may or may not reflect the current store inventory and is limited to stock on hand. Pricing is subject to change. If you do not see an item on our site, please call Bernard’s Wine Gallery directly (1.818.224.5662) 10am to 7pm Tuesday - Saturday. We may be able to special order it for you. Errors: Bernard’s Wine Gallery is not responsible for typographical errors. |

| Coquelicot Estate Vineyard Wine Tasting |
Coquelicot Estate Vineyard Wine TastingOur Vineyard Tuesday thru Saturday 12pm - 7pm $15 pp COQUELICOT (ko-klee-ko) is the name “en français” of the striking red poppy that graces the French countryside. Founded on healthy and balanced soil, water conservation, composting, natural critter and weed management, renewable resources and cover crops. All of Coquelicot Estate Vineyards' 58 acres are Farmed Organically. Coquelicot Estate Vineyards' commitment to organic agriculture runs deep. Organic grape growing is more than just resisting the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. Instead of using toxic herbicides, we take care of weeds the old fashioned way. In place of chemical fungicides, we use a biodegradable natural mineral oil derived from stylet flowers to combat powdery mildew and botrytis bunch rot. By creating a bio-diverse farm landscape that encourages natural predators, we eliminate the need for insecticides. All our fertility meeds are generated on the farm by cover cropping and making compost. Cover crops are planted in the fall and tilled under in the spring using a fertilization technique known as "green manuring". These cover crops include a variety of grasses, legumes, and mustards that protect the soil from erosion. These plants also fix nitrogen into the soils and offer a habitat for many beneficial insects. The benefit of cover cropping over a period of years contributes greatly to the health of the soil and the quality of our vines. Cover cropping is also a form of companion planting. Mustards, for example, when grown alongside grapevines help discourage soil born nematodes (tiny little worms) that would feed on grapevine roots. Another important organic practice, involves the use of compost in the vineyard. At Coquelicot Estate Vineyard, we recycle all of our grape pumice back into the vineyard after it is composted with other organic ingredients including manure, old hay, and garden waste. By returning this valuable resource back to the vineyard, we close our fertility loop and achieve sustainable soil management. Compost applications help maintain a healthy level of organic matter in the soil and feeds earthworms and soil microorganisms that make minerals to keep our vines healthy. Coquelicot Estate Vineyard is dedicated to growing the highest quality wine grapes, which we believe can only be obtained through organic practices. It all starts with healthy soil, because only healthy soil can grow the best quality grapes. Over the years more than a few couples have tied the knot in our vineyard and then danced the night away in our restored ninety year old barn. |
